SOURCES SAY WAYNE IS KAI REAL FATHER π±π TRUTH UNFOLDS BEHIND THE SCENES
Kai:
(storming into the room)
Tell me this isn’t true. Tell me they were lying. That producer straight-up said you were my dad on live TV.
Wayne:
(softly)
Kai, sit down for a second. I didn’t want you to find out this way. It wasn’t supposed to go public like that.
Kai:
(voice rising)
So it is true? You’ve been in my life as my “uncle” for what—my whole damn life—and all this time you’ve been my father? Why wouldn’t you just tell me?
Simone:
(tearfully)
Because it was complicated, Kai. You were just a baby. Wayne and I… we had history, yes, but at the time, your real dad was supposed to be Marcus. That’s what I believed back then.
Wayne:
Simone, it’s time to stop calling Marcus his “real dad.” He’s not. We did the DNA test months ago. It confirmed it. I’ve kept it quiet because I wanted to talk to you privately, not in front of cameras and strangers.
Kai:
(sits slowly, shaking his head)
A DNA test? You did that behind my back?
Wayne:
I didn’t want to hurt you, Kai. But I needed to be sure before I upended your entire world. When the results came back, I was torn. I’ve loved you like a son since you were born… because you are my son.
Kai:
(voice cracking)
And what about all those times I asked you if you knew who my dad really was? You always said, “That’s not my place.” You let me believe I was just some mistake.
Simone:
No, baby. You were never a mistake. I didn’t know the truth either. Wayne and I… it was one night. I didn’t think—it was during a rough patch with Marcus. I didn’t even tell Wayne about the possibility until recently.
Wayne:
I should’ve told you sooner, I know that. But I was scared. Scared you’d hate me. Scared you’d think I only came around because of biology. But I’ve been here. Every school play. Every basketball game. Every time you called—day or night.
Kai:
(silent for a long moment)
You know what hurts the most? I thought I didn’t have a real dad. I thought I was just... abandoned. All this time, the person I was searching for was right there, in my corner. And I didn’t even know.
Simone:
We were wrong to keep it from you. I was wrong. I thought I was protecting you. But the truth... the truth should’ve come out a long time ago.
Wayne:
(steps closer)
I don’t want to just be your biological father, Kai. I want to earn the right to be called “dad.” If you’ll let me.
Kai:
(eyes welling up)
I don’t even know what to say. I’m angry. I’m hurt. But I also… I always felt something different about you. Like a connection. I just never had the words for it.
Wayne:
That’s blood, son. You felt it because it’s real.
Kai:
(takes a deep breath)
It’s gonna take time. I don’t even know where to start. But I want answers. I want the truth. No more secrets. No more lies. From either of you.
Simone & Wayne (together):
You deserve that. Always.
The camera zooms in on Kai’s face—equal parts disbelief, pain, and a flicker of hope—as dramatic music swells. The screen fades to black, with a teaser:
“NEXT WEEK: Kai meets Marcus for the first time since the truth came out. Will he confront him—or forgive him?”
