Setting:
A cozy apartment in the evening. Shayla has just told Anthony she's pregnant. He’s frozen for a moment, eyes wide.

Anthony: 😱
"Wait… are you serious? Like, for real? You’re pregnant?!"

Shayla: (nervously smiling)
"Yeah… I took two tests this morning. Both were positive."

Anthony: (still stunned)
"You're not messing with me? Shayla… you're actually—like, we're actually—"

Shayla:
"I wouldn’t joke about this. I was shocked too, believe me."

Anthony: (sits down slowly, then suddenly bursts into laughter)
"Oh my God. Oh my God, we're having a baby?! Are you okay? Are you—how are you feeling?!"

Shayla: (sits next to him)
"I'm... everything. Happy. Scared. Nervous. Excited. I don't even know what to feel first."

Anthony: (grabs her hands, eyes misty)
"I’m overjoyed. Shayla, this is the best news. I never expected it, not now, but… wow. We're gonna be parents."

Shayla:
"I was so nervous to tell you. I didn’t know how you'd react. I didn’t want to freak you out."

Anthony:
"Freak me out? Babe, this is incredible. You just gave me the biggest surprise of my life—and I couldn’t be happier. I mean… yeah, I’m terrified too, but in the best way."

Shayla: (laughs, relieved)
"I thought you'd faint."

Anthony:
"I almost did. I mean—come on! This is huge. A baby. Our baby. Like, we made a tiny human?! That’s insane."

Shayla:
"Yeah. It still doesn’t feel real to me either. I keep touching my stomach like… is this really happening?"

Anthony: (leans forward, gently puts his hand on her belly)
"Hey there, little one. I’m your dad. Can you believe that, Shayla? I’m gonna be someone’s dad."

Shayla:
"You’re gonna be such a good dad. I can already see it."

Anthony: (smiling, teary)
"And you—you're going to be the most amazing mom. We’re gonna figure it all out together, right?"

Shayla:
"Yeah. Together. Even when we have no idea what we’re doing."

Anthony:
"Hey, one step at a time. Doctor's appointments, vitamins, nursery paint colors, picking names… oh man, we have to pick names."

Shayla:
"One thing at a time, Ant. We’ve got a long journey ahead."

Anthony:
"And I want to savor every second of it. This… this is the start of everything. I love you."

Shayla:
"I love you too."

(They hug, holding onto each other as the reality begins to sink in.)

Anthony: (smiling, teary)
"And you—you're going to be the most amazing mom. We’re gonna figure it all out together, right?"

Shayla: (nods slowly, smile faltering just a bit)
"Yeah… together."

Anthony: (noticing her shift)
"Hey. What’s wrong? You just got quiet all of a sudden."

Shayla: (hesitates)
"There’s… something else I haven’t told you yet."

Anthony: (sits up straighter, face tightening)
"What do you mean? Shayla, what is it?"

Shayla: (takes a deep breath, then looks him in the eyes)
"I didn’t want to tell you until I was sure. But when I saw the doctor this morning… they said something. Something strange."

Anthony: (eyes wide)
"What did they say?"

Shayla: (voice barely above a whisper)
"They think it might be… twins. Or possibly something else. Something they couldn’t explain yet."

Anthony:
"...What do you mean 'something else'? Shayla, what did they see?"

Shayla: (leans forward, her voice trembling)
"They saw two heartbeats… but one of them wasn’t where it was supposed to be."

Anthony: (staring at her, heart pounding)
"What the hell does that mean?"

Shayla:
"They don’t know yet. They need to run more tests. But they said it could be dangerous. For me… or for the baby."

Anthony: (silent, eyes locked on hers, the weight of the unknown settling in)
"...Okay. We’ll get answers. We’ll do whatever it takes. But you should’ve told me sooner."

Shayla: (voice cracking)
"I know. I just… I didn’t want the first thing you felt to be fear."

Anthony: (quietly)
"Too late for that."
